James W. Merchant

Merchant, James W. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Merchant passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 at his residence. Age 69 years. The son of the late Louis E. and Jean L. (Lowe) Merchant was born March 26, 1944 in Bay City. James enjoyed woodworking and RC cars. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bay City, served in the U.S. Army and retired as a truck driver. James is survived by one daughter, Carrie Jo Snider of Bay City; one grandson, Joshua Snider of Bay City; his brothers and sisters, Daniel and Maxine Merchant of Bridgeport, Beth and Robert Girou of Essexville, Steve Merchant of Saginaw, Jeff and Patrice Merchant of Pinconning and Julie and Don Schwartz of Bay City and many nieces, nephews and one aunt and uncle. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife the former Carol Adamczyk and one son, Michael J. Merchant. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brenda Snider and McLaren Hospice for their compassion and care. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Riverwalk Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Steve Roe. Military Honors will be conducted at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Friends may call at the Riverwalk Baptist Church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for wishes of the family will be available at the church and the funeral home.
