James R. Patterson

Jim passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw following a brief battle with cancer. Age 62 years. The son of the late Donald and Joyce (Heglund) Patterson was born August 9, 1955 in Bay City, MI. Jim retired as the warehouse manager from Tri City Suspension. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and most of all he enjoyed being "Papa" to his grandkids. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife the former, Jeriann M. Benson whom he married November 9, 1984; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Timothy and Danielle Patterson, Kyle and Alyson Patterson; his grandchildren, Molly, Amelia, Olivia, Violet, Rowan and expecting his sixth grandchild in March. Jim was blessed twelve years ago to receive the gift of life from his special friend, Mary Ann Janowicz. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buster and Orila Benson; one brother-in-law, Scott Benson. At the request of Jim cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Mary Ann Helie. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
