Penn, James Franklin Bay City, Michigan Mr. Penn passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. He was born January 26, 1934 in Detroit, MI. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church. Mr. Penn was retired from General Motors V-8 Engine Plant. He was a Red Cross Volunteer and Trainer, a life member of React and a member of the South end Citizens District Council. He enjoyed woodworking and cabinet making. Mr. Penn served in the Army National Guard. He is survived by his children; James F. (Janet) Penn Jr., Gloria (Bill) Bethune and Cheryl Kauffman, his grandchildren; Sharon (Miguel) Hernandez, Karlie, Allie and Bobby Penn, two great grandchildren; Isabella and Aaliah, two brothers; Terry and Alvin, three sisters; Dorothy, Irene, and Janet. He was preceded in death by his parents; Robert F. and Audra (Bunch) Penn, his wife; Sharon Penn and a sister; Sharon Penn. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Harvest Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson followed byMilitary Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Private inurnment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
