James C. Peterson Bay City Mr. Peterson passed away Thursday night, April 26, 2012 with his family by his side at his residence, age 71. The son of the late William Peterson & Frances (Stanley) Strauss, he was born August 4, 1940 in Bay City. James was a cement finisher with A.J. Remus & Son, Inc. for many years retiring on May 2, 2002. He was a member of the Outstate Michigan Trowel Trades. James was also affiliated for many years with Log Cabin AA. He enjoyed gardening, especially his tomato plants, going to the casino and playing cribbage. On August 10, 1996 James married Brenda R. (Maleski) Levinson and she survives him along with his daughter Brenda Andrezjewski and her children Jason Andrezjewski and Kyle Andrezjewski; his daughter, Terri Peterson and her children Anthony Michalski and Samantha Michalski; his sons, Richard Peterson and James Peterson; his daughter Carin Valencia and her daughter Jordyn Peterson; his stepchildren, Tracey (Brian) Herek and their children Lauren Herek and Branden Herek; and Melinda Levinson; his great-grandchildren, Kalob Andrezjewski, Auriel Liddell and Alyssandra Michalski; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Richardson and James (Shelly) Maleski; his father-in-law, Raymond Maleski; and a niece and several nephews. Besides his parents, James was also preceded in death by his first wife Judy Rasmer, the mother of his children; and two sisters, Sally (Darwin) Buffman and Karen Richardson. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Keith Moody and staff, and to the staff of McLaren Hospice for the extra special care they gave to James. It was James' desire that cremation take place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. For those who so desire, memorial contributions may be made in James' name to Brian's House.
