Robbins, James L. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Robbins passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland, MI. Age 80 years. He was born on September 15, 1930 in Flint, Michigan. Mr. Robbins was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and retired from McArdle Pontiac-Cadillac in Midland as the General Manager and Accountant. Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus # 5280 in Gladwin, VFW post # 485 in Bay City, the American Legion Post # 8 in Winter Haven, Florida , a life member of B.P.O.E. Lodge # 88 Bay City and had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On April 14, 1956 he married the former Geraldine M. (Gerry) Klapish and she survives his passing along with three sons and three daughters-in-law; Michael J. (Leslie) Robbins of Jackson, James W. (Denise) Robbins II of Midland and Thomas J. ( Tracy) Robbins of Zeeland, five grandchildren; Matt, Lindsay, Katy, Bryant and Alex, one brother; Gerald (Janet) Robbins of Winter Haven, FL, one sister; Margaret Ann (Rodger) Huckins of Sedona, AZ, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Bob (Sally) Klapish of Bay City and Chris (Bob) Walker of Bay City and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; James and Thelma (Austin) Robbins and his father-in-law and mother-in-law; John and Ann Klapish. The Memorial Mass and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Friday, May 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church 1008 S. Wenona St. Bay City, MI 48706. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. George J. Serour with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Military Honors will be conducted following the Mass by members of the Bay County Veterans Council and the United States Air Force. The Family will be present at the church on Friday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of services. In lieu of Flowers memorial cards for Holy Trinity Catholic Church, American Diabetes Foundation or the Elk's Major Projects will be available.
