Jane Holland Smith

Jane passed away August 9, 2016 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Age 62 years. She was born April 12, 1954 in Bay City, Michigan. In her early years Jane attended First Presbyterian Church. In her later years she attended Peoples Baptist Church bible study program. She graduated from Bay City Central in 1972 and later attended Delta College. Jane had a great passion for her pet dogs. She retired from the Meijer Store in Essexville. Left to cherish her memory is her brothers and sisters, Dr. Peter (Molly Mann) Smith of St. Clare Shores, MI; Roy Smith, Minneapolis, MN; Elizabeth (David) LeValley of Bay City, MI; Abigail (Eric) Briggs of Whitmore Lake, MI; her step mother, Diane Smith of Bay City, MI; four nieces and nephews, Sarah (Jerry) Niemczura; Caroline (Gregory) Tobias; Spencer Briggs and Vivian Briggs; her grandnephew, Andrew and grandniece, Anna. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl H. Smith Jr. and her mother; Virginia Gallemore Smith. At the request of Jane burial has taken place at Elm Lawn Park Cemetery. A Memorial Service will take place Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Peoples Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel Hester. The family will be present at the church on Thursday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
