Janice Evelyn Jacobs

Janice Evelyn Jacobs passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025 in her home at the age of 77. She was born October 31, 1947 to the late John and Evelyn (Germain) Obermiller in Bay City, Michigan.

Janice worked most her of her life, dedicating 45 years as a nurses aide. She was easy to get along with, and loved taking care of people. Even though Janice worked second shift during her career, she always made sure there was dinner waiting for her family, because she loved to feed people, and pets, making sure everyone got their plate before she did.

Janice also enjoyed going to the casino, hoping to win big! She enjoyed watching the home shopping network and buying things for her friends and family. She had a big, generous heart, especially when it came to animals. Janice also enjoyed gardening, insistent on getting that last weed pulled. When her husband, Raymond, was alive they both loved going on trips together, and spending time with family. Janice’s true passion though was spoiling her dog, Sammi, who will miss her most of all. Janice is survived by her two children, Richard Talaga, Thomas (Rhiannon) Talaga, three step-children, Raymond H. (Cecelia) Jacobs Jr., Carrie (Kevin) Jacobs, Tammy (Bobby) Wade; eight grandchildren; three great grandchilden; sister and confidant Karen Gorski; sister-in-law and dear friend Carolyn Neveau; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and several siblings; Kay, Elaine, Marilyn, John, Leonard, Donald, Lawrence, and Richard, she was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Raymond Jacobs.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to the Bay or Midland County Humane Society.
