Mrs. Jayne Ann "Toots" Gray, of Bay City, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Sheffield Bay, age 76. The daughter of the late Augie and Anna (Browdowski) Nielson, she was born on September 8, 1939 in Saginaw. On January 15, 1972 Jayne married James A. Gray and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2011. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Bay City. Jayne enjoyed going for long rides with Jim, especially to the Upper Peninsula.
Jayne is survived by her son, Daniel (Deborah) Mann of Bay City; her step-children, Keith (Darlene) Gray and their son Jimmy of Bay City and Becky Gray of Bowling Green, KY; her two brothers, Donald (Shelly) Nielson of Bay City and Joseph (Sherry) Nielson of Massachusetts; her sister, Diane Neitzel of St. Helen; her special brother, John (Cheryl) Williams; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Hazel Kish and Eleanor Gray both of Bay City, Leslie (Shirley) Gray of Auburn, Marion Gray of Florida, Rita Gray of Auburn and Doris Nielson of Biloxi, MS; nieces and nephews, Mike (Sherry) Neitzel and their son Kaysen, Todd, Denise and Emily Gray, Ryan (Laura) Nielson, Andy (Susan) Nielson and their daughter Katelyn, and John Neitzel and his children Dalton and Maylyn; and a special niece, Barb Perry. Jayne was also preceded in death by her brother; Frank Nielson, six brothers-in-law, Francis "Cork", Charles, Edward, Albert "Butch" (Tootie), Harry and Robert Gray; and a special nephew, Scott Neitzel.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Jeff and Carla Bazaire and the loving nursing staff at Sheffield Bay for the extra special care they gave to Jayne.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Elder's Donald and Shelly Nielson followed by a graveside committal service, conducted by Elder Clarence Pease, at Fremont Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
