Jeffrey passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper after a long battle with Crohn's Disease at the age of 34 years. Jeffrey had a real zest for life and loved spending time with his extended family that includes many aunts, uncles, cousins and their children. His wish was to be remembered as an honorable person. Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' Matthew 25:23. He was an extremely intelligent and creative person with wisdom far beyond his years. Jeffrey was a self-taught singer, songwriter, guitarist, an artist and poet. He loved to share his passion for many things; including history, culture, environment, cooking, the well-being of mankind, the Mandarin language and gaming to name a few. No words can express how much we will miss his vast knowledge, love of conversations, infectious laugh, compassion and optimism.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Elizabeth (James Bates) Hulslander; father, Ralph (Sue Sharp) Hulslander; brother, Joseph Hulslander; sister, Marian (Rob) Atha; step brothers, Greg (Kayla) Bates and Tanner Sharp; nieces, Brooke, Audrey and Kira and nephews, Adam, Rowan, Corbin and Westin. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Marian Sporman and Dale and Joan Wingard and uncle, Thomas Sporman.
At the request of Jeffrey cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Nancy Mayhew. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
