Mrs. Doyen passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Country Square Adult Foster Care. Age 83 years. Joan was born to Stanley and Rosena (Heinz) Majka on April 12, 1935 and had one brother, Stan Majka who predeceased her earlier this year. She attended Zion Lutheran School, TL Handy High School and Northeastern School of Commerce. Joan worked at the Bay City Foundry as an executive secretary and later worked in home health care and at Jack's Fruit Market.
Joan married Clinton L. Doyen Jr. on September 17, 1955 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1990. She is survived by her daughters, Jennifer Doyen and Crystal (Douglas) Kurchak; three grandsons, Clinton, Cole and Caleb Kurchak; her niece, Deanna (Randy) Delestowicz (daughter of the predeceased sister-in-law Betty Doyen) and her children, Eloy and Dominique; her great uncle, Robert (Mary) Heinz (Predeceased by his first wife Beverly) and his children, Bobby Jo and Becky; sister-in-law, Bonnie Majka, her brothers widow and their children; nephew Gary (Tina) Majka and his children, Gary Jr. and Noah and niece Shellie (Ken) Franz and their children, Michael, Jacob and Courtney. She is also survived by her in laws, Jeanette (Jim) Poirer and their children, Randy (Laura), Mike (Jody), Tim (Barbara) and Greg (Lisa); Gary (Sue) Doyen and their children, Chris, Steven and Lisa; Iva (Dave) Stevens and their children, Joe (Predeceased by their son Eric), Rachel, Anne, Suzie, Sarah, and Ruth; Carlin (Dorothy) Doyen and their daughter, Brittany; and Tarry Parker (Predeceased by Ron and her husband Rosco Hall) and their children Nancy and Mitchel; along with many great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Joan also found love again for the past 18 years with Pablo Moran who will miss her very much. She also loved dancing, going to the beach, music, shopping and cooking for family and friends.
At the request of Mrs. Doyen cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Chris Garcia. Private inurnment will take place in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Brian's House will be available at the funeral home.
