Joan was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at McLaren Bay Region with her family by her side at the age of 67. Joan was born to the late Stephen and Evelyn (Havican) Krzyminski in Bay City, Michigan on December 7, 1954. She married Jerry Wing on May 13, 1978 in St. Mary's Church and he and her children Carrie and Kevin survive her. She graduated from T.L. Handy High School, class of 1973, and went on to earn an associate's degree from Northeastern School of Commerce and then spent the next 35 years in her career at Dow Chemical Employees Credit Union.
Joan was a long-time member of Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing sports, going to the gym, and walking on the riverwalk. She was a member of Women of Course (golf), Gutter Minded (bowling) where she rolled a 299 game and earned women's city-high score, Badminton Babes (badminton), and YaYas (women's group). She also enjoyed watching the 4th of July Fireworks and Michigan State sports, she was an excellent lifeguard and most importantly, loved attending her grandchildren's sporting events and spending time with them.
Joan is survived by her husband of 43 years Jerry; daughter, Carrie (David) Gorajek; son, Kevin Wing and his significant other, Jill Frohlich; four grandchildren, Drew Gorajek, Dylan Gorajek, Brady Wing and Alexander Wing; sister, Kathy (Greig) Pelletier; brother in-laws and sister in-laws, Bill Maciejewski, Randy (Paulette) Groya, Carol (Bob) Goff, Judy Suh, Dave (Pat) Wing, Robert "Skip" Wing, Pegi (George) Lamoureux and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her sisters, Connie Groya and Jan Maciejewski; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gordon and Gertrude Wing; aunt and uncle Loretta and Max Matuszewski; and a cousin Tom Meisel.
Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Corpus Christi Parish- Holy Trinity Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert Kelm with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place on Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Feel free to wear your favorite golf or bowling shirt to celebrate Joanie.  Joan will be taken to the church to lie in state on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Because we cherish our family and friends, the family is requesting that you only attend if you are vaccinated from Covid-19.
