Joann L. Elder

Mrs. Joann L. Elder, of Bay City, passed away early Thursday morning, February 16, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region, age 80. The daughter of the late Glenn and Garnetta (Trombley) Kendall, she was born on April 30, 1936 in Essexville. Joann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved to play scrabble with her friend, Donna.
Joann is survived by four children, Ruth (Mark) LaCross, Jason (Mary) Elder, Andrew (Helen) Elder and Scott (Pam) Elder; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Joyce (Hank) Gruber; a brother, Glenn (Karen) Kendall, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Joann was also preceded in death by her husband, William Elder; a son, Curtis Elder; and a daughter, Garnetta Elder.
It was Joann's desire for cremation to take place. Family and friends may gather on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. for a Celebration of Joann's Life.
