Joanne Irwin

Joanne Irwin passed away Saturday afternoon July 17, 2010 at the Bay Medical Care Facility, age 74. The daughter of the late Henry & Melba (Hotter) Genow, she was born September 25, 1935 in Linwood and has lived in Bay City most of her life. Joanne was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed casino trips, dancing and playing cards. Joanne married Duncan M. Irwin in 1956 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood and he preceded her in death in 1997. Joanne is survived by one daughter, two sons and two daughters-in-law; Michael & Charline Irwin, MaryLee Irwin of Bay City and Darrell & Debbie Irwin of Cedar Springs, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Marilyn & Dennis Carrier of Bay City, Maureen & Alex Simmon of Grand Rapids, Patricia & Roger Kilvington of Bay City, Marjorie Maxwell of Bay City, Brenda & Steve Sittler of Nappanee, IN and Neil Maxwell of Denver, CO, two sisters; Lois Lock and Betty Seaton both of Bay City, and several other nieces and nephews, brother-in-law; Walter Irwin of Bentley, sister-in-law; Bertha Irwin of Midland. Joanne was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Bay Medical Care Facility for the special care that Joanne has received over the years. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with the Rite of Committal following. Private burial will be in Bentley Gibson Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm with the Vigil for the Deceased beginning at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Irwin will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 9:00am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bay Medical Care Facility.
