Joanne A. Richter

Richter, Joanne A. of Bay City, Michigan passed away Wednesday August 29, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 76 years. The daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Nowazyak) Van Sumeren was born on September 25, 1935 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of her life. Joanne retired from Bangor West School as the "Lunch Lady", enjoyed her monthly meetings with the girls from work, going to the casino and her shopping trips. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Wendi and Mark Wilber of Kawkawlin, two sons and two daughters-in-law; Jeffrey and Barb Richter of Goshen, IN and Mike and Teresa Richter of Bay City, two grandchildren; Kevin Hart and Rebecca Best, three brothers and three sisters-in-law; Roy and Harriet Van Sumeren, Harold and Shirley Van Sumeren and Richard and Sandy Van Sumeren, her sister and best friend and her brother-in-law; Colleen and Joe Turmell and many nieces and nephews. On February 15, 1958 she married Wayne L. Richter and he preceded her in death on June 16, 2002. Mrs. Richter's Family will greet family and friends at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday August 31, 2012 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial cards will be available at the funeral home for St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Disabled American Veterans.
