Joanne Steinhoff

Joanne passed away early Wednesday morning, December 6, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region following a brief illness. Age 74 years. The daughter of Claude and Thelma (MacDonald) Niemann was born August 30, 1943 in Bay City. She graduated from T. L. Handy High School in 1961. Joann enjoyed going to the cabin in Lewiston, playing cards and spending time with family and friends.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Richard Steinhoff whom she married October 26, 1968; her brother, Richard (Lois) Niemann; her sister, Janet Wackerle; her brothers-in-law, Edward Simstad, Donald Sautter, Michael Rivard, Kip Fuller, Les Behmlander and Ervin (Cookie) Kuch; her sisters-in-laws, Sharon Steinhoff, Carol Sylvester, Sandy (Don) Hughes, Ellen Steinhoff, Sally (Dan) Sylvester; her special niece and caregiver, Marci Simstad, an abundant amount of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Tom (Shari) Niemann, her sisters, Kay Simstad, Mary Sautter and Lynn Rivard; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Virginia Shimunec, father-in-law, Wayne Steinhoff; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gary Wackerle, LaDoris Fuller, DeWayne (Stub) Steinhoff, Lyle Sylvester, Joyce Behmlander, Judy Kuch, John Steinhoff and her nephew, Brent Veitengruber.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Mary Ann Helie  with cremation following. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Wishes of the Family.
