JoAnne passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 85. She was born on August 17, 1933 in Bay City to the late George and Gertrude (Hamilton) Schultz. JoAnne married her love Lloyd H. Weaver in Bay City on September 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2003. She was an active member in the Handy Pride Association and worked for over ten years as a preschool teacher for NECSA Head Start. She was most active and well known for her work with Bay City's Southwest Little League for over 50 years. She served many positions at Southwest Little League including, president, player agent and assistant district administrator and was a member of the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame. She was honored to throw out the first pitch at the Little League World Series for her 80th birthday.
JoAnne is survived by her children, Randy (Linda) Weaver, Pamela Baran, James Weaver and Brian Weaver; grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Marinik, Krystyn (Nate) Brown, Tricia (Brandon) Wiesen, Lynsay (Chris Stump) Weaver and BJ (Erica) Weaver; great grandchildren, Natalie, Ben, Connor, Caysen, Maverick and Hudson; sister, Kay (Roger) Clauss; brother, Henry (Brenda) Schultz and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. At the request of JoAnne cremation will take place following the service and private inurnment will take place in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to the wishes of the family.
