John "Bill" W. Hadd

Hadd, John W. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Hadd passed early Tuesday morning, February 22, 2011 at Brittany Manor in Midland, Michigan. Age 92 years. He was born March 17, 1918 in Bay City, Michigan and has resided here all of his life. He was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, he served on the Vestry for two years and served on the Bishop's Committee for the merger of St. John's and Grace Church. John served with the United States Army from 1941 to 1945 and was a life member of the D.A.V.. He was a former member and Past Patron of the O.E.S. Sharon Chapter #20 , Portsmouth Lodge #190 F. & A.M.. John was formerly employed at Bay City Shovels, American Hoist and Derrick Co, and retired from Bay City Electric Steel as a welder and in his later year he worked part time at Herman Hiss & Co. He is survived by one daughter; Linda Hadd of Bay City, two sisters; Betty Schumann of Bay City and Shirley Troxell of Mellon, WI, two sisters-in-law; Kitty Rynalski and Elizabeth Carmichael both of Bay City, two brothers-in-law; Jimmy Carmichael of Bear Lake and John Carmichael of OH, one special cousin; Darlene Jacobs of Bay City, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian J. (Carmichael) Hadd and his parents; Eva (Bellor) and William Hadd. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. William Boli under the auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Hadd will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
