John E. Buchhage

Mr. Buchhage passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 90 years. The son of the late John E. Sr. and Bertha Buchhage was born May 22, 1925 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. Buchhage retired from the Maintenance Dept. at Delta College. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing cards, having coffee with his friends and was an avid baseball fan, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Buchhage served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Left behind to cherish his memories are one son, Gary Buchhage and Denise Tierney; his three grandchildren, Sam Buchhage, Elise Dixon and Alexandra Buchhage and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Edwina A. Buchhage; two brothers, Emil and Edwin Buchhage; two sisters, Edna Leinberger and Clara Kohn. Funeral Services will take place Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Officiating will Rev. LeRoy R. Westphal with interment following in Fremont Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Buchhage will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
