John Charles Burke Bay City, Michigan Mr. Burke passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 72 years. The son of the late Mary E. (Rosebush) and Joseph E. Burke Sr. was born September 17, 1942 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. John graduated from T.L. Handy High School and was a life long and devoted member of Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local # 486 and retired from Gerace Construction Company as a truck driver. Mr. Burke had a great love for his family and most of all he cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren. On July 4, 1964 he married his wife of 50 years the former Susan K. Studer in Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church and she survives his passing along with one daughter and son-in-law; Alice A. and Jesse Bayn of Bay City, one son and daughter-in-law; Andrew J. and Gina Burke of Bay City, four very special grandchildren; Jaden Will, Brennan Burke, Cullan Burke and Jesse Bayn, one brother; Michael T. Burke of Bay City, one sister; Cathleen "Kate" Jacobs of Tennessee, one brother-in-law; Mert (Bonnie) Keith of Bay City and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother and sister-in-law; Joseph and Marilyn Burke Jr., one sister; Patricia Keith, his father-in-law and mother-in-law; Delbert and Mary Studer, two brothers-in-law; John Studer and Michael "Jake" Jacobs and two nephews; Michael Timothy Burke II and John Studer II. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Celebrant will be Rev. Steven L. Korth with interment following in Calvary Cemetery in Kawkawlin. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Tuesday from 2;00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mr. Burke will be taken to the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to Mt. Olive Ev. Lutheran Church.
