John E. Combs

John passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020 at his residence at the age of 74 years. He was born in Detroit on July 10, 1945 to Gillis and Helen (Chandler) Combs. He married the former Rosalie McDonald on October 7, 1967. John served his country in the United States Navy in Vietnam and was a member of the Bay County Veterans Council and Honor Guard, Vietnam Veteran of America and Disabled Veterans of America. He was a member of Victory Life Worship Center where he was also an elder. John worked for Pier 23 in Au Gres for many years and in his spare time enjoyed tinkering with everything and was a handyman.
John is survived by his wife, Rosalie; children, David (Lynda) Combs, Teresa (Marvin) Warren, Wendy Combs and Michael Combs; grandchildren, Rose and Abrahm Warren; sister, Dorothy Parish; brother, Jay Hallums and many nieces and nephews.
