John D. Crooks

John Dean Crooks, age 70, of Bay City, Michigan passed away peacefully in his home on December 19, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. John retired in 2010 after 30 years with Bay County Waste Water Treatment plant.  John enjoyed fishing and the great outdoors. He loved eclectic finds at antique shops and flea markets and taking long drives with his wife Wanda. His compassion and generosity will be greatly missed by all who knew him; he would give anyone in need the shirt off of his back.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Wanda (Baller) Crooks and his children Jeffery (Brynn Dechert) Crooks and Jennifer (Adam) Westendorf, his 4 grandchildren Bryce, Drew, Beckett and Grayson, his brother Don (Lois) Crooks and brother in law Bruce Zinke. He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Connie Jones and sisters Bonnie Zinke, Margo (Dale) Vizina and Donna Crooks.
The family will be holding a private memorial at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to St Jude Children's research fund or McLaren Hospice and Homecare Foundation.
