John Richard Douglas

John Richard Douglas, of Bay City, passed away Thursday February 23, 2012 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center in Saginaw, age 66. The son of the late John & Edmere (Lacy) Douglas, he was born June 30, 1945 in Saginaw. John graduated from Arthur Hill High School in Saginaw in 1963 and served with US Army during Vietnam. He retired as a barber and enjoyed golfing. Mr. Douglas is survived by his two sons, Richard Douglas of Bay City and Scott Douglas of Midland. Besides his parents, John was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley H. (LaBelle) Douglas in 1986 and his brother, James Douglas. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday February 28, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 9:00pm and on Tuesday from 10:00am until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saginaw VAMC Voluntary Service.
