Lentz, John H. Bay City, Michigan John passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at Mc Laren Bay Region Hospital at the Age 84 years old. The son of the late Howard F. and Esther W. (Spiegelberg) Lentz, he was born June 7, 1927 in Bay City. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church and a former member of the finance committee. John was a graduate of Central Michigan University where he received his bachelor's degree and was retired from Dow Chemical Co. He enjoyed summering at Brown's Landing in Tawas City, fishing, attending the Bay City Players productions, Bay City Community Band concerts, Bay Optimist Travelogues, and was a charter member of the Bay City Civitan Club. John served with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines during the World War II. He is survived by his wife the former Catherine E. Walz whom he married December 5, 1953. Also surviving are two sons; Robert J. Lentz and Anita Carpene of East Hartford, CT and Douglas R. Lentz and his wife; Tracee Behnke - Lentz of Tawas City, MI, his grandchildren; Sarah E. Lentz of East Hartford, CT, Laura C. Lentz of Boston, MA, Paige E., Kalvin W. and Gabriel H. Lentz all of Tawas City, MI, one brother and sister-in-law; Harold W. and Kathryn Lentz of Ft. Wayne, IN and one brother-in-law Roland J. Walz of Bay City, MI, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his son Gregory H. Lentz. At the request of Mr. Lentz cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schweppe with private inurnment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 o'clock Noon until the time of services. Memorial cards for the St. John's Ev.
