John A. Howard

John Arthur Howard of Bay City, Michigan, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 12, 2020 at the age of 73.

John enjoyed being an active member of the community throughout his life.  He was an active member of the Tawas Bay Chapter of Fraternal Order of the Eagles 2588.   As a retiree, he was an active member with the UAW Local 362. He enjoyed actively supporting the Democratic Party.  John lived a full life spending time with his family and traveling with his wife Libby. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

John is survived by his wife, Libby of 37 years; daughters, Kelly Kastros, Jamie (Chuck) Morgan, Kate (Reece) Compton and Jodi Welter; sons, Matthew Howard and Paul (Kristin) Gaskin; brother, Joseph (Betsy) Howard; sister-in-law, Ann (Gerald) Smith; grandchildren, John Peter Kastros, Spero Kastros, Nathaniel (Shelby) Gaskin, Jordan Harrison, Nola (Alex) Welter, Nicole Reich, Amanda Welter, Tiffany (John) Morgan, Mackenzie (Chase) Olson, Alyssa Harrison, Taylor Gaskin, Bailey (Sean) Howard, Faith MacFarlane, Mason Compton, Jayla Compton, Aaron Welter, Jack Welter and Rylee Howard; great grandchildren, Giovanni and Evelyn; nephews, Marty (Tracie) and Joey (Lauren) Howard; his lifelong friend, Donnie Goulet (aka Mistress).  John was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael Welter and grandson, Sean Welter.

At the request of John, cremation has taken place, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
