Jack passed away late Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 at Bay Shores Nursing Home at the age of 81 years. The son of the late Lyman and Catherine (Murray) Oslund was born May 8, 1936 in Escanaba, Michigan. Jack was a retired Electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. 692for 60 years. He was in the first graduating class of Visitation High School graduating in 1954. Jack was member of the Experiential Air Craft Association. He was the Bay County Director of REACT, working tirelessly at numerous 4th of July festivals, River of Time many events with the Bay County Runners Club, to include St. Patrick's events, St. Stan's events and was also a transport driver for the Michigan eye bank and a member of Survivors of Suicide. Left behind to cherish Jack's memories are his wife of 42 years the former Sherry D. Abear whom he married June 27, 1975; his children, Anthony "Tony" Oslund, Ron (Stella) Lask, Barbara Lask and Chad Kramer; his grandchildren, Joshua Lask, Jessica Krzyinski and Amy Miller; his great grandchildren, Gage and Jake Krzysinski, Lilly, Dennis and Evelyn Miller; one brother, Thomas (Gloria) Oslund; one sister, Mary Jo (William) Burgett; one brother-in-law; James Baldwin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, John R. Oslund and one sister; Joan Baldwin. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, October 2, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Mary Helie with private interment in Calvary Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
