Koziatek, John S. Bay City, Michigan passed away early Thursday morning January 5, 2012 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born October 27, 1962 in Mt. Clemens, MI. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. John was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #414 and Bishop Murphy Assembly 4th Degree. He enjoyed hunting and golfing. He is survived by his wife the former; Cheryl A. Laur whom he married April 27, 1985. Also surviving are two sons; Travis and Austin Koziatek, his father; Stanley Koziatek, his mother; Joan Stone, his sisters and brothers; Jennifer Maser, Joseph Koziatek, James Koziatek, Jackie Rubis and Jason Koziatek, his mother-in-law; Joanne Laur, his brothers-in-law and and sisters-in-law; Debbie Wojciechowski, David , John and Jerry Laur and Donna Gakstatter, his godchildren; Matthew Gakstatter and Jake Hendrickson, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother; Jeffrey Koziatek, his step-father; Bob Stone and his father-in-law; David Laur. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Brock and the staff of McLaren Visiting Nurse Services and Hospice for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during his time of need. A Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal Service will be celebrated Monday, January 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil for the Deceased will take place Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home followed by The Bible Presentation by members of the K of C # 414 and the Chalice presentation by members of the Bishop Murphy Assembly #0491. The family will be present at the church on Monday to receive visitors from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Wishes of the Family.
