Mr. John J. "Jack" Livingston, of Bay City, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 30, 2016 at his residence, age 91. The son of the late Jay and Belma (Manor) Livingston, he was born on August 21, 1925 in Bay County. Jack served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a flooring installer and retired from California Floor Covering. Jack was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder and was very helpful with projects around the church. He was a true Jack of All Trades, especially woodworking. Jack loved country music and playing his guitar, dancing and occasional trips to casinos.
Jack is survived by his beloved fiancé of 27 years, Mary Griebe; his two sons, John (Ranyell) Livingston of Flagstaff, AZ and Dennis Livingston of Las Vegas, NV; two step-children, Calvin Griebe and Renee Griebe; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother and sisters, Ed (Mary) Schultz, Ruth Tulloh, Elaine Livingston, Mae Coates, Belma (Jim) VanSumeren and Shirley (Ron) Woods; a brother-in-law, Clarence Lange; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jack was also preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Lange) Livingston; a step-son, Kurt Griebe; a brother, Archie Livingston; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Mielens.
The Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt W. Eichinger. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
