John Michael Parisson
1953–2023
John passed away at home, peacefully, in his sleep, on September 29th, 2023. An only child, he was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Julius and Regina (Stone) Parisson. He was raised in Cambridge, OH, and graduated from Cambridge High School. He attended Ohio University in Zanesville, OH. John was a biblical research student for many years, teaching and sharing his love for God. He ran weekly at-home fellowship meetings in Ohio and Michigan, and he was sent out and served as a missionary in Gulfport, Mississippi.
As a young man, John was a drummer in a local band and enjoyed rock music as well as Christian music. Playing football in high school, John was passionate about the sport and watched most of the college games, especially his Buckeyes, as well as the NFL and his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers, a passion he shared with his son, Jack. John worked for many years as a truck driver and large restaurant equipment installer at Kirchman Brothers in Bay City, MI. He also worked at Insight Enterprises corporate office in Tempe, AZ, in the shipping receiving department. He became an over-the-road semi-truck driver and trainer with Swift Transportation in Michigan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Michele Parisson, and children, Summer (Brannan) House, Sarah Parisson, Jack Parisson, Michael (Michelle) Hill, Angela Hill, and an honorary daughter, Angela Solares-Gries. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Addie, Maggie, Nate, Henry, Cameron, Dakota, Braxton, and two special granddaughters whom he raised as his own, Haley and Lilly Parisson. He welcomed his first great-grandchild into the world this year, Emmanuel "Manny" James Bonasse.
John was a gentle giant with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be truly missed and never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.
At the request of John, cremation has taken place, and no services are being planned at the Gephart Funeral Home. His family may hold a private memorial at a later date.
