Mr. Silvernale, loving husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully Monday evening, November 5, 2012 at Mid-Michigan Regional Medical Center in Midland with his family by his side. Age 65 years. The son of the late Clarence and Blanche (Kemp) Silvernale was born October 18, 1947 in Bay City. Mr. Silvernale was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pinconning and the Bay City Wesleyan Church. He was retired from Affleck Electric as a Master Electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W Local #692. Mr. Silvernale was also a licensed Master Plumber and licensed Master Heating Contractor. He was a kind, soft spoken and gentle man who was always willing to help others and was a mentor to children who needed help with any math problems. His grandchildren were the love of his life, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed working in his yard, his pond, wood working and making anything that anyone could dream up. Mr. Silvernale served his country during the Vietnam Conflict with the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife and the love of his life the former Kathleen J. Leppek whom he married June 15, 1972. Also surviving are two daughters and two sons-in-law; Angela and David Pischel of Bay City, Alisa and Marty Caspers of Kawkawlin, his grandchildren; Kalub Purtell, Gabriel Pischel, Nikolas Caspers and Lucas Caspers, his mother-in-law; Joyce O. Leppek, his sisters and brothers-in-law; JoAnn and Kenneth Straub, Carol and Richard Syring, Beverly and Rudy Snable, Dawn and Gerald Johansen, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Beryle Silvernale, Barbara Boomer, Joanne Silvernale, Gayla and Jim McMinn, Vicki and Jim Goodell, Joni and Gene Solek, Mike and Margaret Leppek and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law; Frank C. Leppek, three brothers: Dewain, Bill and Ed Silvernale and his nephew Brian Straub. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bay City Wesleyan Church. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Haines followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council and cremation will follow. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
