John K. Steve

Steve, John K. Bay City, Michigan Our Loving husband and father, passed away suddenly early Friday morning June 5, 2015 at his home. He was born July 6, 1961 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and has resided in Bay City for many years. He was an avid bowler and golfer who enjoyed boating, hunting, Red Wings hockey, and spending time at his cabin on Lake Superior in Brimley. John was a sales manager for the Eby-Brown Co.where he met many of his life-long friends. John loved and appreciated each and every member of his family and his truly countless friends. He was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. John never met a person who didn't become a friend and was always ready with a smile or a joke to brighten our day. He will never be forgotten. On September 13, 1986 he married his wife of 28 years Lynn R. Steve and she is left behind to cherish his memories along with two beloved daughters, Taylor and Rachael Steve and his dog Wrigley. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather; Sandra and Peter McConnell, one brother; Patrick Steve, his mother-in-law; Nancy LaPorte, two sisters-in-law; Kelly LaPorte and fiancé Kevin Vezina and Julie and Tom Johnson, three nieces; Kasey, Erika and Olivia, one nephew; Dru, and step-brothers; Dale, Darby, and John, and step-sister; DJ. John was preceded in death by his father; Kenneth Steve, stepfather; John Hanchera and his father-in-law; Fred LaPorte. A Celebration of Life Service will take place Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Officiating will be Sr. Virginia Scally SNDdeN. At the request of John, cremation has taken place. The family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday to receive visitors from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to "The Wishes of the Family"
