Swaton, John Joseph Jr.Bay City, Michigan Mr. Swaton age 60 years loving husband, father, Papa, brother, passed away January 5, 2010, at Bay Special Care Center. He was retired from G.M. Powertrain Bay City Plant. John was a member of Bay County React and U.A.W. Local # 362. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, casino runs and playing card. His grandchildren were the love of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Marylou (Malenfant); his children, Thomas; Terri; John III (Kristen); Christa (Gabe); Matthew and Kelli; his grandchildren, Cammy; Shelly; Bubba; Taylor; Gabriel Jr; Sommer; Katie and Beth; his brother, Mike (Alice); his sister, Wendy(Rich); his special uncle, Jay (Jodi); his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Joseph; Kathleen; David (Janice); Tim; Julie (Robert); Steve and Sue; his godson; Ryan Malenfant; his very special friends; Dave and Janet Jean; Brenda Madigan and Jack and Sherry Oslund. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Maxine Swaton; Thomas and Mary Malenfant and granddaughter, Samantha. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Bay Special Care Hospital for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Friday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Dale A. Orlik with the Rite of Committal following in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. John will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
