John Ernest Toth

John passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 surrounded by his family. John was born January 16, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Motors. John enjoyed golfing, hunting, playing softball, snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle and watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Bridges) Toth; three daughters, Sonnette (Joseph) Coldwell, Aliesha (Donald) Kinney and Misty Gilbert and her fiancé, Dominic Mogg; grandchildren, Joaquin, Mason, Bella, Adam, Tanner and Tiahnna; two brothers, Robert Jacobs and his significant other, Nan Rohleder and Julius (Pam) Jacobs; several nieces and nephews; his special friends, Priscilla “Annie” Pharion, Marsha Tober and Melissa Seymour. John was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Toth.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to John’s hospice nurse, Stacey, whom he adored, for her compassion and care.

A private memorial service will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions for the Bay County Humane Society will be available at the funeral home.
