KRANTZ, Joseph W., Bay City, Joe passed away peacefully Monday, May 21, 2012 at home following a lengthy illness. Joe was born November 19, 1935 in Bay City to the late Harry and Mary Monica (Trombley) Krantz. His wife, the former Karen Doyle, whom he married in 1958, survives Joe. Joe owned and operated numerous businesses in the Bay City area and throughout Michigan under the Triple Clean banner. His memberships included the Saginaw Valley Oil Men's Club, the Detroit Oil Men's Club, Michigan Petroleum Association, Michigan Oil and Gas Association, Bay Valley Golf Club and the Country Club of Boyne. Joe served on the Board of Directors of the former Second National Bank - Bay City and on the Advisory Board of the Michigan Section of the Professional Golfers' Association of America of which he was a Partners Club Life Member. In addition to his wife, Karen, Joe is survived by his daughter Kathy (David) Cozad, two grandchildren; Kyle and Alyssa Cozad, four sisters; Patricia Wald, Marilyn (Gene) Robinson, Betty (Alan) Jones and Gerilyn (Duaine) Vogel, one brother; Ken (Jan) Krantz, one sister-in-law; Margaret Krantz and two brothers-in-law; Terry and Gary Doyle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister Kathleen (Gilbert) Hall, and two brothers Richard (Bernadette) and James Krantz. A memorial service for Joe will take place at Gephart Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 AM. Father Dale Orlik will officiate. The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Santa House or the Joseph Krantz Building Trades Scholarship Program.
