Joseph L. Swiencicki, Auburn, Michigan Mr. Swiencicki passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 77 years. The son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Krzyminski) Swiecicki was born January 5, 1939 in Bay City. Joe was a member of St. Gabriel Parish and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #699. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, gardening and most of all spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Left behind to cherish his memory are two daughters and two sons-in-law; Jennifer and Mark Steih and Kathleen and Thomas Palmer, his grandchildren; Rachel and Katelyn Steih, Hannah and Joshua Palmer, his brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Elizabeth Eckerd, Michael Swiecicki, Margaret and Orrin Turner, Robert and Kathy Swiecicki, Mary Ellen Swiecicki, James Neveau and Carl Maciejewski , numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. On June 1, 1963 he married the former Annette R. Maciejewski and she preceded him in death on July 29, 2015. He was also preceded in death by one sister; Mary Jane and Carl Rytlewski, two brothers; Richard Swiecicki and Daniel Swiecicki and two sisters-in-law; Ellen Neveau and Barbara Maciejewski. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Friday, January 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Parish-West Campus St. Anthony's 4699 11 Mile Road Auburn, MI. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Thomas E. Sutton. Members of the Bay County Veterans Council will conduct Military Honors following the Mass at the Church. Private interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Joseph will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to "The Wishes of the Family" for a memorial to be established at a later time.
