Josephine M. LaBerge

Josephine M. "Josie" LaBerge passed away early Friday morning December 26, 2014 at Bay Shores Nursing Center with her loving family by her side. Age 93 years. She was born December 20, 1921 in Osceola Mills, PA and has resided in Bay City most of her life. She was a member St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent de Paul Church, was an active volunteer of the Friendship Committee and enjoyed going to the Riverside Senior Center. She is survived by four children; Jeanette and Fred Valesek of Port Austin, Francis (Mike) and Cathy LaBerge Jr. of Kawkawlin, Robert and Chris LaBerge of Caro and Dr. James and Denise LaBerge of Williamston, MI, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three sisters-in-law; Kate Oswald, Elaine LaBerge both of Bay City and Pauline Gehringer of Auburn as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends. On April 20, 1945 she married Francis M. LaBerge Sr. and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother and six sisters. The LaBerge family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff at Bay Shores and Hospice Advantage for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Mrs. LaBerge during the time they cared for her. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. St. Catherine of Siena Parish - St. Vincent de Paul Church 2956 East North Union Rd . Celebrant will be will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with the Rite of Committal following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sr. Virginia Scally SNDdeN will conduct the Vigil of the Deceased Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. LaBerge will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Riverside Senior Center or Bay Shores Rehabilitation.
