Josiane Germaine Donnelly

Mrs. Donnelly passed away early Tuesday morning, December 10, 2013 at Brittany Manor Nursing Home in Midland at the age of 79 years. The daughter of the late Auguste and Germaine (Thobois) Alix was born July 27, 1934 in Moulins, France. Mrs. Donnelly attended St. Alban's Episcopal Church. She was the perfect mother to her children, enjoyed and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and with her love for kids she also became a "grandmother" to many neighborhood children. She was a former member of the Eagles Club Arise #1010, enjoyed reading, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, sewing, doing puzzles, watching birds and spending time with her pet boxer and great dane. Left behind to cherish her memory are her son: Robert John Donnelly residing Bay City, one daughter; Ruth Ann Hayes retired from the U.S. Navy residing in Atlanta, GA., her daughter-in-law; Karen Doolin, her grandchildren; Robert C. Donnelly and his fiancée; Ashley Aikens and James H. Donnelly, her great grandchildren; Tristan and Teianna Donnelly, Audrey and Parker Donnelly and Emma Sauer, step grandchildren; Marlene Biers and Gary Zins, step great grandchildren ;Gabby, Joey and Aaron, many extended great grandchildren, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Herbert Donnelly, Helen Peterson, Florence and John Reynolds, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband; Robert Maynard Donnelly whom she married May 5, 1957 in France and he passed away on March 13, 2013, her daughter; Joanne Donnelly, her brothers; Raymond, Charles and Robert Alix, her sister-in-law; Patricia Donnelly and her brother-in-law; Lawrence Peterson. Funeral Services will take place Friday, December 13, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Sharon L. Volker. The Committal Service will take place Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly MI. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
