Joyce E. Burley

Joyce E. Burley (Lohr) passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at her home with her children at her side at the age of 85. The daughter of the late Bert and Vera (Reed) Lohr was born November 1, 1933 in Bay City and has lived here all of her life. Joyce married James Burley on August 22, 1953 and they enjoyed a beautiful life together until his passing in 2012. Joyce enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, watching Detroit Tigers baseball, reading cookbooks, listening to the birds singing at her window and always keeping informed of today's news. Mom really enjoyed attending her Goal Seekers group on Wednesdays.

Joyce is survived by her beautiful children, Allan J. Burley, Kevin K. (Paula) Burley, Darlene A. (Kenneth) Martin, Curtis W. (Debby) Burley, Karen C. (Patrick) Burley-Draves and Jason A. (Vickie) Burley; grandchildren, Teale, Lia (John), Jennifer, James (Stephanie), Jared, Jocelyn, Jeremy, Jorge, Kyle, Zachary, Shane (Andrea), Angela, Jenelle, Kristina (Tom), Rich (Traci), Katrina, Autumn, Michael (Stacey), Alesha, Jennifer (Eric) and Heather; 30 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gerald (Phyllis) Burley and her dear friend, Donna "Sis" View. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Robert Lohr; daughters-in-law, Dawn and Kathleen and her granddaughter, Nicole.

At the request of Mrs. Burley cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Paralyzed Veterans Of America or The March Of Dimes or St. Catherine of Siena Parish.
