Our loving mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully Friday afternoon August 19, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region with her family at her side following a brief illness. Age 70 years. The daughter of the late Edward C. and Edna V. (Studniarz) Pawloski was born April 15, 1946 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. Mrs. Deska was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish- St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Bay City Chapter 367 Women of the Moose, East Coast Paddlers Club and a life member of VFW Post 6950 Ladies Auxiliary. She retired from Dow Chemical Company - Midland Division as a lab director after many years of service. Judi enjoyed golfing, kayaking in Michigan and Florida, cooking, jet skiing and most of all she loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
Left behind to cherish her memories are two sons and two daughters-in-law; Eugene B. "Gene" and Tami Jacobs Jr. and Thomas E. "Tom" and Kris Jacobs, four grandchildren; Jordan, Madelyn, Nathan and Warren Jacobs, her very special friend; Jim Janowicz, two sisters; Delores Lambert and Joan Payne, one brother; Joe Pawloski, her longtime friends; Connie and Ken Twardize all of Bay City and many other extended family members and friends. Besides her parents Edward and Edna she was preceded in death by her husband; James Deska.
Judi's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Neuro ICU and 3-East at McLaren Bay Region for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Judi during the time they cared for her.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish - St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 1503 22nd St. Bay City, MI 48708. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Richard M. Filary with the Rite of Committal following in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 1:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Deska will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to "Our Lady of Czestochowa-St. Stanislaus Church" or "Donor's Favorite Charity". www.gephartfuneralhome.com
