Judith A. Smith

Judy received her angel wings on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at The Carriage House surrounded by her family at the age of 78 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church all her life. Judy retired as a secretary from the Bay City Public Schools after many years. In her spare time she volunteered for the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, and Hospice. She was also involved with the Kawkawlin River cleanup program and enjoyed sewing, crafts, golf, gardening and trips to the casino. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Judy is survived by her daughters, Michelle (James) Caspers, Melissa Seymour and Molly (Brad) Richard; stepchildren, Karen (Mohamad) Said, Linda (Randy) Weaver, Patti Loree, Tim (Carol) Smith and Greg (Jill) Smith; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Eric Seymour, Matthew and Erin Caspers, Josie and Jacob Richard, Westley (Cassandra) and Patrick Mitchell, Heather (Brian) Marinik, Amanda and Aubrie Smith, Megan (Michael) Hayes, Mallory (Riley) Pratt, Rachael and Logan Smith and Beth and Tricia Foldie; eleven great grandchildren; brother, Michael (Kelly) Reed and sister, Linda (Gary) Anderson. In addition to her husband and parents she was also preceded by sons, Matthew and Michael Redmond; granddaughter, Kristin Redmond; sister, Kathy Favel and brother, Patrick Reed. Per Judy's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial liturgy will take place at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St Mary's Church on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 until the time of the service at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a contribution to the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission or Our Lady of Peace Parish food pantry. The family would like to give special thanks to McLaren Hospice, and the staff at The Carriage House, especially her loving nurse, Stephanie. For online condolences www.GephartFuneralHome.com
