Mrs. Judith Ann (Cavanaugh) Wagner, of Bay City, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016 at her home with her family by her side, age 80. The daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Gottschling) Cavanaugh, she was born on May 10, 1935 in Bay City. Judith has attended Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church since childhood. She was retired from the Bay County Sheriff Department where she was a cook at the Bay County Jail for many years. Judith was a member of the American Legion Post #18 Ladies Auxiliary. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated mother and grandmother.
Judith is survived by two sons, Larry (Judy) Moldenhauer of Shepherd and Randy Moldenhauer of Bay City; her grandchildren, Christopher (Justeen) Blair, Michael (Stephanie) Wenglikowski, Jill (Brandon) Roberts, Billy (Deidra) Stolz, Farrah McPhee and Myles Conroy; great-grandchildren, Alyssia, Tyler and Alisyn Roberts, Megan and Jacob Blair, and Brendan and Gavin Wenglikowski; a brother, Terry Cavanaugh; her special friend, Kathy Jackson; a beloved niece, Bonnie Bourdon; and several nieces and nephews and many friends. Besides her parents, Judith was also preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Wagner; her daughter, Tammy McPhee; a son, William Stolz; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Moldenhauer; two brothers, Charles Cavanaugh and Richard Cavanaugh; and two sisters, Marcia McPhee and Linda Tober.
The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm. Private inurnment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. On Friday the Parish Vigil Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by Rosary Prayers. Mrs. Wagner will lie instate at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Hospice.
