June Charlotte Kernstock

Mrs. June C. Kernstock, of Bay City, passed away late Thursday evening, June 24, 2014 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center, age 88. She was born June 8, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan and has resided in Bay City most of her life. June was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. She enjoyed serving in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the Friendship Circle and singing in the church choir. June volunteered for many church and school functions and took great pride in serving as the church custodian and retired after thirty years of dedicated service. She enjoyed working in her yard and on the Kernstock Centennial Farm, fishing and most of all just visiting with family and friends.
June is survived by one daughter; Patty J. Kernstock of Shelby Township, one son; Roger D. Kernstock, one sister-in-law; Doris Brunner-Deford , many nieces and nephews and her special family friends; Julie Hedrick, Laurie Morley, Chrissy Zimmerman-Jones and Jan Stoll. On October 1, 1949, June married Emil Kernstock and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one son, David M. Kernstock; and her brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will take place Monday, July 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss with interment following in St. Paul Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Kernstock will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
