Karl A. Scheurs

Karl passed away Sunday afternoon, September 9, 2012 at his residence. Age 74 years. He was born August 12, 1938 in Bay City. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust and was a former usher. Karl retired from Dow Plastic Lined Pipe. He enjoyed gardening, building guns and fishing rods, using his smoker to make jerky and smoked meats and photography. Karl served with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife the former Sonia F. Poultney whom he married September 30, 1977. Also surviving are his children; Shannon Elliott, Sheri (Kim) Sutton, Alan (Julie) Olson, Tina (Jeff) Douponce and Jeffrey Olson, his grandchildren; Joshua, Margaret, Lindy, Karrie, Steve, Richard, Tara, Jarred, Devinne, Breanne, Christopher, Chera, Sara and Tayna, his great grandchildren; Katelynn, Jaidynn, Armand, Gavin, Lanie, Landon and Kameron. He was predeceased by his parents; Karl P. and Margaret Faith (Parker) Scheurs and his son; Karl Alan "Tiger" Scheurs. Funeral Services will take place Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss with the Committal and Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council following in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00 Noon and until the time of services.
