Katherine Jezewski

Our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, Katherine Jezewski passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Country Square AFC where she has resided for the past 7 ½ years. Katherine was 98 years old, born on November 19, 1919 to Stanley and Frances (Jarczynski) Krzyzaniak of Auburn, Michigan. Mrs. Jezewski has resided in this area all of her life.
Katherine married Henry J. Jezewski on June 21, 1940 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Fisherville, Michigan. Katherine was a homemaker for her family; she did house work for families in Midland and Saginaw. She loved going to the casino and playing polka music on her accordion. She is now in heaven playing polka music.
Katherine is survived by her five children, Maxine (John) Hemingway of Midland, Richard (Carol) Jezewski of Pinconning, Walter Jezewski, Diane Craig and Barbara Neumeyer all of Bay City. She is survived by nine grandchildren, Susan (David) Forbes of Midland, John (Kim) Hemingway of Kalamazoo, Patti Stamper of Midland, Anne Prater of Charlotte, Lisa Jezewski of Kinde, Jeremy (Sharon) Jezewski of Mt. Pleasant, Cathy (Roy) Samsel of Midland, Brian (Tiffany) Nadolny of Auburn and Brooke Jezewski of Essexville. She is survived by twelve great grandchildren, Tyler and Janae Forbes, Travis, Rowynn and Karlee Jezewski, Brittney Stamper, Brooks and Cole Hemingway, Kadance and Gage Nadolny, Morgan and Matthew Samsel; one great great granddaughter, Lylian Stamper; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Krzyzaniak of Midland, Tina Krzyzaniak of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews.
Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Jezewski on November 9, 1988, by her parents in 1959 and twelve siblings, her brothers, Alex, Frank, Ignatz (Fred), Stanley, John, Charles, Felix and Edward Krzyzaniak; sisters, Cecelia Szafranski, Pauline Bocianski, Anna Meylan and Francis Marciniak. Katherine was the third youngest of thirteen children and the last surviving sibling of her family.
Katherine looked forward to visits from her family and friends while residing at Country Square. We, her family, who loved Katherine, will miss her forever. A shining light has gone out of our life. "Miss me a little - but not too long. And not with your heads bowed low. Remember the love we once shared. Miss me - but let me go. For this is the journey that we must all take, and each must go alone."
Thank you to the staff of Country Square AFC for providing a loving, caring and comfortable home for Katherine, especially during her last days.
A private graveside Committal service will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fisherville in the Krzyzaniak family plot. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Thomas Sutton. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc.
