Katherine E. "Kate" Werner

In the early morning on Saturday, December 31st, 2016 our loving aunt passed away peacefully at The Carriage House of Bay City. Age 95. Mrs. Werner was born on September, 15, 1921 in Bay City, Michigan to Mr. Edward Joseph Flynn and Mrs. Alma (Schroeder) Flynn. In 1945 she married Carl Werner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bay City, Michigan. Over the years she was a very active member at St. Vincent de Paul - St. Catherine of Siena Parish and participated as part of the Alter Society. After working many years at the Michigan Bell Telephone Company she finally retired in 1972. Mrs. Werner is survived by seven nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her loving parents and husband Carl; a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Carl Allenspach; a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Marge Flynn; another sister, Mary Jane DuFresne; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Karoly. At the request of Mrs. Werner cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Catherine of Siena Parish Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. John Sarge. Friends and family may gather before the service from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service to comfort the family and share fond memories of Mrs. Werner. A private internment will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
