Kathryn C. Wackerle

On Friday morning September 14, 2018 the angels guided Kathryn C. Wackerle through the gates of heaven into the waiting arms of Jesus Christ and his father God. There to welcome her home were her loving husband, Robert (Bob) Wackerle; her daughter, Carol Ann Wackerle and her son, Marc A. Wackerle.
Left behind to tell her good bye are her beloved brother, Stanley A. Fork; her devoted daughter, Cheryl (Wackerle) Reid; son-in-law, Richard Reid; granddaughter, Becke Ann Rogers with husband, Jay and grandson, Robert R. Reid and wife, Jill. Also saying goodbye are granddaughter, Celeste (Wackerle) Kieft, grandson, Carson Wackerle along with their mother, Gina Wackerle. Giving great gramma a hug and hearty "thumbs up" are Zachary R. Reid, Jacob R. Rogers, Sierra C. Reid, Alina P. Reid. Each of them carry in their hearts profound love and joy that only a great grandmother can bestow upon them. Special nieces and nephews saying goodbye are Karen Schofield, with husband Bob, Stanley Fork Jr. and wife Kim, Richard Fork and wife Peggy, Tom Fork, Kimberly and husband Karl Phillips, and Michele (Fork) Stout.
Kathryn began her 98 years of life began in Toledo, Ohio in 1920. Born to Marie and Charles Fork. She was joined seven years later by twin brothers, Edgar and Stanley. After graduating, the family moved to Bay City, Michigan, where she took a job at the Autolite Company, making aircraft gun turrets for World War II. During this time she met, fell in love with and married Robert (Bob) Wackerle.
Those who knew Kathryn will remember her many interests: friends, playing bridge, gardening, church functions, avid reader, horseback rider, tap dancer and many more. The most important to her was family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to top the list. She never knew when or where she would make new friends and much to her surprise and delight she was gifted with and entire team of friends that she came to love right until the end. Kathryn was a feisty woman who lived her life determined and courageously through loss and pain bravely. She NEVER forgot those she loved.
Funeral Services will take place Monday, September 24, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Chaplain Ron Compton. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday to receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
