Kay Clauss passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Huron Woods Nursing Center. Age 83 years. The daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Hamilton) Schultz was born January 5, 1937 in Bay City, Michigan. Kay was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church and a professional ball watcher. Kay enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, playing cards with friends and family and she always put everyone else in front of herself.
Kay is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roger G. Clauss; one daughter, Melanie (Todd) Mastic; one son, Roger (Ashley) Clauss; five grandchildren, Lauren, A.J. and Alex Mastic and Paige and Ella Clauss; one brother, Henry (Brenda) Schultz and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Joann Weaver and her brother-in-law, Lloyd "Bud" Weaver.
Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert with private interment following in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
