Kenneth Lee Scharich

Ken passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at St. Marys of Michigan at the age of 67 years. Ken was born in Bay City on July 7, 1951 to the late Herman and Dorothy (Rueger) Scharich. On November 4, 1972 he married the former Patricia Ann Barnella in Bay City. Ken was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. He owned and operated Scharich Dairy Farm for many years. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, past president of the FFA and received Farmer of the Year from Quality Farm and Fleet. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Patti; children, Brandi (Jim) Cramer, Toni (Robert) Brown and Bonnie Passannante; grandchildren, Bradley, Ashton and Aubreigh Cramer, Elizabeth Favela, Selena, Katerina and Marissa Brown, Dominck and Adrianna Passannante; great grandchildren, EJ and Eli Favela; brothers, Tim, Lane, Wayne (Joan), Gary (Pam) and Tom Scharich; god sons, Sean (Dusty) Bowen and Mark Scharich; very good friend, Joseph Brown and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Dale and Dennis; grandparents, Elmer and Alma Rueger; father and mother-in-law, Dick and Francis Callow and son-in-law, Jay Passannante.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at St. John Lutheran Church of Amelith. Officiating will be Rev. Stephen P. Starke with burial and committal in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Scharich will be taken to the church to lie in state on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
