Mr. Gray passed away early Thursday morning, June 19, 2014 at Wells Spring Lutheran Services in Frankenmuth. Age 88 years. The son of the late Lesly and Martha (Frier) Gray was born March 16, 1926 in Bay City, MI. Mr. Gray retired from Standard Oil Corporation and then owned and operated Gray Advertising for many years. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Gray was a life member of the Lions Club in Mesick, a member of the Amvets Post #120 in Mesick; he was on the Historical Museum board in Mesick, a board member of the Lions club Park in Mesick and on the board for the Northern Exposure Camp Ground. Besides being very involved in his community he enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and traveling in his motor home. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife the former Ruth I. Luther whom he married April 29, 1961, his children; Robert J. Gray, Patricia Gray Robbins and her husband; James, Russell E. Schuch, Roger A. Schuch and his wife; Kay, Ross E. Schuch and his wife; Vickie, eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson and four sisters. Funeral and Committal Services will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 12:00 o'clock Noon at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St., Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be The Rev. Sharon L. Volker followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council.Private burial will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Saturday to receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. A Memorial Service in honor of Mr. Gray will take place Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Amvets Post #120 in Mesick, MI.
