LaDona E. DePrekel

DePrekel, LaDona E. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. LaDona E. DePrekel, of Bay City, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2017 at the Bay Medical Care Facility, age 87. The daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Ryczek) Jonkis, she was born on December 6, 1929 in Bay City. LaDona was a longtime member of the former Visitation Catholic Church. She worked as a cook for Bangor Twp. Schools. LaDona enjoyed bingo and knitting and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. LaDona is survived by her husband, Robert L. DePrekel whom she married September 25, 1953; her five children, James (Grace) DePrekel, Richard (Deb) DePrekel, Robert (Vickie) DePrekel, Joan (Brian) Nalevayko and David DePrekel; her 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Rase, Diane Brubaker and Rose DePrekel; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, LaDona was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Loretta) Jonkis; and two sisters, Virginia (Anthony) Matuszewski and Margaret (Mikey) Janowicz. At the request of LaDona cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Mary Ann Helie. The family will be present at the funeral home on Wednesday to receive friends and family from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
