Lawrence "Larry" E. McDermott

McDermott, Lawrence E. "Larry" Bay City, Michigan Mr. McDermott passed away early Saturday morning July 13, 2013 at Huron Woods Nursing Home. Age 81 years. He was born January 21, 1932 in Youngstown, OH and has resided in Bay City most of his life. He retired from the Bay City Fire Department, was a member of the F.O.E. Aries 1010, AM Vets, Blind Veterans Association and served with the United States Coast Guard. He is survived by three daughters and their spouses; Kathie and Mick Bauer of Bay City, Donna and Jim Klida of Auburn and Pat and Jerry Brigham of Essexville, four grandchildren; Ashley Ford, Mellissa and Steve Raab, Brooke Kilborn and Lance Kilborn, five great grandchildren; Jacob Ford, Jaden Condon, Bobbie Condon, Morgan Ford and Miranda Raab, one sister; Alice Hungerford and one brother and sister-in-law; Don and Carol McDermott. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clemens and Cecelia Mae (Cummins) McDermott, one grandson; Rich Ford, one brother and sister-in-law; William and Barb McDermott and one brother-in-law; Roy Hungerford. Larry's family would like to extend a special thank you to "His Other Family" at Huron Woods Nursing Home for the kind and compassionate care they provided for Larry during the time they took care of him. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Monday, July 15, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. David Dunn with private inurnment in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Bay City. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
